Free samples from Chinese laboratories

Hi BBGate, I've been reading on this and other forums about importing chemicals for substance synthesis through Chinese resellers. I was interested in this type of business, but what intrigued me was that labs provide free samples, paying only the shipping cost. This would be quite interesting, especially to see how customs reacts without having to spend a lot of money for an initial transaction. What do you think? Does this business really work or is it a scam? I'm afraid there are a lot of scams on sites like Alibaba and Shoppee.

A company giving free samples is probably just starting up. I don't see a problem paying the shipping and seeing what happens. if its a scam let us know

They don't actually offer it openly. What happens is that before purchasing large quantities, some suppliers provide free samples for testing, so I can buy larger quantities from them later. And this sample actually has a decent amount, like 100g. In my case, I need a reagent that's not on my country's control list but is used to make a controlled product (CAS 19395-41-6). When I make the purchase, I'll share with you how it went and show you the results of my tests.
