Can i use the reaction described in pihkal to synthesize 2cb for Other derivates like 2c-d and just Start with 2,5-dimethoxy-4-methylbenzaldehyd instead of 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyd and leave out the halogenation at the end(with adjusted amounts ofc) or do i have to use another way and what would Happen if i still do the reaktion woth 4-methyl-dmba? Thanks a lot

Im really sorry abt that stupid question, ofc you can do that, its even described in phikal, i just didnt have time to read the whole section abt 2cd and just saw that the syntesis started with something else than 4-methyl-dmba and i didnt want to invest lots of money in sth that i cant even use later on

Hope you have a nice Day, sorry fot bothering you
