Hey Everyone..i cant find any info about formamide in forum so decided to open new thread. I wanna make medium/large scale formamide synth and whats the best way to do that? dehydrating of ammonia formate is long and dangerous(hcn as by product) so decided make aminatotion of formate ester. i dont really know which way would be better: pass throught formate ester dry NH3 or add aquos nh3 and additionaly start saturate (if neccesary??) solutiuon with dry NH3? everything suppose be made under 0*C ? for how long? how to be sure that reaction is complete? maybe some of you have better way to sytnh formamide? sorry for so much question in one post - i wanna find answers before i start do anything
