Hey guys. Here I want to talk about the outstanding TV shows and movies that have impacted you personally.
Moments that have helped you achieve some success or, on the contrary, helped you avoid some serious trouble.

Even after twenty years, I particularly remembered the storyline of the TV show «The Wire» where the cops were able to tap the phones of street drug dealers, prompting them to eventually switch to pagers. At the time it impressed me so much that my buddy and I decided to get pagers ourselves, which were not easy to use. I guess people around looked to at us like idiots. Now I realize that using pagers in 2005 drew a lot more attention from people around us than if we had just used disposable phones. But at the time, we thought that we were very smart.
These days, people don't remember pagers, and most people have never even heard of them. Shiiiiiit

It's been a long time since then, but I still remember how the cops wiretapping niggers,
and I always keep that knowledge in my head.

I was also very impressed by the story of the movie Scarface, where Tony Montana went from fearless criminal to crazy sick bastard and the main reason was his own product - cocaine. Cocaine didn't make him a madman, it just revealed and accentuated his true nature. Many of us have something inside us that we shouldn't let out, and it's in our best interest to keep it in check. Cocaine ruined Tony and I will always remember: Don't use your product, it that will destroy you from within.
A good dealer never uses his stuff.

Yeah, the wire was one of my favorites, I like how it detailed the characters from both sides of the law, not many shows that I can think of go into that level of character development and it isn't just a generic portrayal of good vs bad. Shows both sides acting nobly at times but also doing shitty things as well. Also shows even low level drug deals need a high level of organization and don't get away with making rash impulsive decisions that put the whole crew at risk, which is how street level non mafia types are generally depicted.

And Scarface is great too. I actually felt a bit bad for Tony Montana. It seemed every good thing he tried to do blew up in his face. Like giving his mum that money and she rejected it and threw it in his face. Elvira was just using him for the nose candy and talked to him like dirt. He was betrayed by his best friend and sister, who he just tried to protect and ends up shooting him. He gets betrayed by nearly every single character in the movie and refused to blow up the car with the wife and child, which was noble but it ended up signing his death warrant!

A movie I would recommend of a similar gangster style would be "The Irishman" which only came out a few years ago, and has De Niro, Pacino, Pesci and the director of "Goodfellas" and this one is based on the true story of Jimmy Hoffa and revolves around the mafia. If you haven't seen it already. I'd definitely recommend it.
