Labware sizes for small scale personal synthesis experiments

I’m not out to get rich and make money, but for the pursuit of knowledge. I only plan to do small scale synthesis for things like amphetamine, mdma, ghb, maybe mephedrone and some tryptamines. All for my own personal use, so my experiments will be if a small experimental size.

Will be attempting this synth initially with only 5 g of P2NP:

Would 500ml be sufficient? Should I get bigger glassware? Is 500ml too big? Should I go lower? I will only be doing tiny experiments like this I imagine so I’m just not trying to go overkill on glassware

You never want to have your flask more than half full, so if you say you want to reduce 5g of p2np it means we need 200 ml of solvent give or take, so 500ml is on point.

In a laboratory setting it's good to have all sizes from 10 or 20 - up to 2000 ml of beakers, erlenmeyers atleast 1 of each and more of what is usual.This is ideal, not mandatory in any way.

I have a few of those already thankfully for measuring dissolutions I used to do on potent chems.

I’d like to get a distillation apparatus going eventually, but I’d like to try some of the synthesis that don’t require it first, so I can get some experience.

i know the video doesn’t call for a reflux condenser, but a lot of people on the thread seem to use a reflux. What are some good multi use confessor types? What size should I be looking at for my small scale?

the only thing you should really looking at is the vevor distillation kits, they are proprietary ground glass joint or some american standard so it won't be compatible with anything else but it's a good price for a good taste with little hassle.While you are there get a stirrer hotplate and stand set with clamps, unbeatable value
Other than that some beakers, 1-2L sep. funnel, a crystalizer dish for running a bath, pp food funnels few sizes, small aquarium pump to recirculate an icy water bucket, thats about it

UWe9o12jkied91dWow, those prices are rock bottom. I've read about some issues with their wiring. Do you trust their electronics or do you think it's worth it to get heat elsewhere?

InLikeFlynnMy short path distillation head only cost £40 of ebay which is cheap I've looked on vevor and they don't even sell these, as for recommendations I can only say that nearly all of my glassware is from either Amazon, ebay or Ali. All but my first lot of glassware that I got was off the college I was at gifted me a tone of glass when they closed the chemistry dept, they was smashing it all in a skip and I asked if I could save some. Got some really great organic chem books, there old and straigt up tell you how to make most chems old enough to say using an asbestos gauze!
