Morphine sulfate to diacetylmorphine?

I'm on a bunch of kadian, 1500mg a day, does anyone know how I could go from morphine sulfate to diacetylmorphine? I've already extracted a gram of it from the kadian.. How would I turn the sulfate to Free base then use acetic anhydride to make some Heron? Anybody with better chemistry than me help please?

I haven't personal experience with morphine sulfate but chemically, it is the same process than morphine.HCl : you need a base to give it "Free Base" like sodium bicarbonate ammonia, or some hydroxide. And you should control the pH with litmus paper, it is quite easy and cheap.

I'm curious but... Are you taking 1500g of Morphine per day ???

It is not very simple, if you look for a very simple way, buy it, I don't have better advise so far.

NoneI made an account just to chime in on this. Glacial acetic acid reflux wouldn’t work to produce diacetylmorphine, but a 3 hour reflux would work to make 3MAM and 6MAM which one might argue are actually more desirable to some than DAM.

kpnI'm not a professional chemist, but I do synthesis of some molecules for a long time.

For 1500mg, your body need a break, most (every) opioids need a gap of time to fill again the neurotransmitters.
If you make a break of one week, you will see the difference.

You can first dissociate it with alkali, extract it with dichloromethane and react with equimolar amount of acetic anhydride, and then use sodium carbonate aqueous solution to wash it, and then evaporate dichloromethane
