What are you talking? Why do you think it's 2-bromovalerophenone? This would lead to a-pvp instead of MDPHP...

For MDPHP you need
2-bromo-3',4'-(methylenedioxy)hexanophenone

yes exactly.
MDPHP is made like aPHP with the addion of a 3,4methylendioxy group.
aPHP you make with 2-bromo-1-phenyhexan-1-one, so for the bk-MD version you would need 3,4methylendioxy-2-bromo-1-phenylhexan-1-one I think it can also be called 3,4methylendioxy-2-bromo-hexiophenone.
