Puede el diclorometano sustituir al dibromometano en la síntesis piperonal a partir de 3 4 dihidroxibenzaldehído

Both in theory and in practice the answer is yes, but the yield can't be as good and reaction conditions should be more energetic and lengthy involving a copper catalyst if I remember well. Keep in mind that Chloride is the most stubborn leaving group of the three possible halogens for this. Bromide is better than Chloride and Iodide even better leaving group than Bromide. Fluoride is a halogen but not a leaving group (someone did find a particular case or several in which it is) and Astatine is so rare they have te atoms on inventory and they also tend to turn.
