Looking at the ghb synthesis through 4 bromobutyric acid, and I just want to make sure my thinking is correct.
It calls for reacting 4 bromobutyric acid with sodium ethoxide, 7.8 grams in 500ml of ethanol.
If I replace that with lithium, can I substitute that with an equimolar amount of lithium? With the same amount of ethanol?
