15 grams of phosphorus
30 grams of iodine

In the first stage, I threw iodine and phosphorus into the balloon, as usual, the dry calm exothermic reaction started.
Then I put the cooling condenser and added 8 ml of water very slowly from the top, and continued the violent exothermic reaction in a controlled manner in the ice bath for half an hour.
I thought that the water was not enough because the phosphorus remained dry on the edges during the exothermic reaction, so I added 8ml more water.
When the reaction calmed down, I removed the condenser, added ephedrine and adjusted the heat by examining the appropriateness of the Condensation level in the cooler (4/1), and boiled for 4 hours.
When the boiling was over, I cooled it to room temperature, added water to the flask and filtered the phosphorus. I prepared a caustic solution with 1 gram of sodium thiosulfate, 20 grams of NaOH, 80ml of water and added it to the mixture.
The problems started here, normally after the pH reached 14, there should be a layer of meth oil on top of the mixture, but instead a white residue formed on top, with mucus-like pieces inside.
However, I continued my normal process, extracted it with toluene and transferred it to another clean container, added pure water, mixed it, measured the pH, added hcl until the pH was slightly acidic, separated the water and evaporated it.
(It was repeated several times and the result was different each time, but the common feature of all of them was that they were oily)
The result is 1 gram of oily, yellow and orange meth that never dries, yes meth, it tastes salty like meth, when I burn it it reacts the same as meth and then it turns black
Actually if it was just oily there would be no problem, I would clean it with acetone or alcohol and purify it, but 1 gram of merh came out of 20 grams of ephedrine, why did this happen?
