hey, now, have a couple of old motorola phones, walmart phones that were super cheap.
i have them in developer mode, and have the OEM unlock and debugging features turned off...and this is where i am stuck like chuck

i need to be able to unlock the bootloader and root the phone.
i have a laptop, but only works with TAILS, i know i need to download a couple things but i dont know where to start.
(i am going to set one up for downloading movies and shit from libretorrent with an SD card, and put kali linux on the other so i can learn some stuff.)
if you know what youre doing and can help me do it(and i barely understand anythung tek but can follow directions.), i would send you $10usd in monero
one dude told me shit but doesnt have the time to help me IRL, as he works.

Im far from an expert ht ive rooted a ciuple. Since tney sound older, hou can root them without a computer, of course a computer is handy when you put a new build on them because you can compile the whole thing and then install it all at once.. id try to help you, but i wouldnt take your money, because im not a tipped employee.

i know that you gotta download 'drivers' and shit, but dont understand shit about any of it, and everything i read says 'if you understand adb and fastboot'...muthafuckas, thats what im trying to do.
any help would bee appriciated, and would bee more than happy to buy you a beer, so to speak, for your assistance

What version of phone do you have, as it matters quite a bit.
Assuming they aren't too old, follow this:
install the android debug bridge (link here). You shouldn't need drivers, as tails is linux and generally hates drivers as they are insecure.
Once you have that working, you basically just connect your phone with a data cable to your computer.
Run 'adb reboot bootloader' to boot into fastboot. Alternatively power and volume down will do the same.
Run 'fastboot devices' and make sure your phone is connected.
run 'fastboot oem get_unlock_data' to get your unique device code.
go to motorola's page (link: here) and sign it (it is required, use a burner gmail if necessary).
Copy down the code and format as one string and paste it into the "can my device be unlocked" box.
If so, click request unlock and copy the code from you burner gmail.
Type in 'fastboot oem unlock [code here]' while in fastboot.
This should unlock your bootloader now.
Side note, all data will be cleared by now.
Tell me when/if you get to this point, and I'll explain how to flash magisk (honestly would also recommend flashing lineageos as its known for better privacy).

holy fuck i must be very stupid.
i am on tails, so some sites wont let me on, but i used duckduckgo to searcg android debigging tool tails, download, adb for android download, github adb android....
cut and pasted the link you sent me and it wont come up.
the only thing i can possibly think is downloading kali linux onto a thumb drive like tails, and using that.

tails doesnt have somethng already on it????? im not the most computer savvy muthafucka, but i figure tails is for computwer savvy muthafucvkas, maybe they would have it

okay, i am going to close the computer down, restart tails and add admin password, then go on root terminal, and se if i can download it with commands (never done it before).
