This doesn't have an N-methylate, and I opted for a racemic a-methyl. Technically I suppose this is the amphetamine analog. Tell me where you want the other methyl and I'll add it. This chemical in the picture is a precursor to SD573 carbonate, a pesticide.
I someone reacts P2P, pyrrolidine, 85% formic acid and some Lewis-acid catalyst (to make the connection to P2P's carbonyl group), let's say AlCl3 for 12-16 hours.
Then if it produces the wanted imine first, what is the most OTC method to reduce the produced imine, if this kind of reaction even works?
Im thinking it would be interesting to put another Nitrogen first to get somewhat close to both the N-Methylamine as well as the Pyrrolidine but at the same time kind of. Looks pretty neat as is thou
