Hello, can anyone act on the potential called phenylmethylenediphenylamine external amine with methylene function receiving in Leuckart reactions:
composition:
anhydrous ethanol (2M) + koh(2.5M)
ammonium formate (1.5M) pour into phenylacetone
and then add two moles of dilute hydrochloric acid dropwise
we cook it under reflux and precipitate the amine by distillation with steam, cook the amine about 70 degrees Celsius and water 80 degrees
we collect the upper layer of moisture and distill under vacuum what compound we will get because in this reaction the carbon atom placed closest to the double bond does not attach the bond hence the methylene group I guess? What will be the pH of this compound or will the reaction be eg 7? then only with caffeine?
