can you get away with no rotovap?

So shit is expensive, and was wondering, at the begining, can you skip a roto and just recover your solvents in a short path distillation(or a regular one?).

yes you can - both are different aparatuses for a vacuum distilation
rotovap is ment for larger volumes, short path for smaller volumes
truth is you will propably never need a rotovap

rotovap only saves time. if you dont got the money just do a vacuum destilation or build one yourself its basicly just a rotating flask(you could make it kinda rotate by using a teflon joint or a vacuum swivel joint kinda thing ) in a water bath conected to a condensor and a colection flask
