the most difficult ingredient to find is HCl gas. what else can I use and how?

Why don't you make your own? Add high concentration H2SO4 to NaCl (plain kitchen salt) and it produces HCl gas.

Production of HCl Gas Using Table Salt and Sulfuric Acid

1. Place about 2–3 teaspoons of table salt inside the glass flask.

2. Insert the hose into the rubber stopper, and seal the mouth of the flask tightly with the stopper.

3. Using a dropper or precise tool, slowly add concentrated sulfuric acid into the flask over the salt.

4. The reaction will start immediately, and HCl gas vapors will begin to emerge from the end of the hose.
