How to test hypophosphorus acid

Hi im wondering how can i test presence of hypophosphorus acid to be sure that i have real hp not fake. Maybe tlc test ?

Hello, TLC is possible but i would recommend performing a titration with iodine solution.

I don't know how definitive this is but I knew folks that would stick a pocket knife in it, pull it out and touch it with a flame. If its hypo it burns like its gas and kinda sparks lightly but its the smell that is produced that confirms what they've got. Try it sometime. Kinda analog but if someones just selling something fake at least you'll know.
