Earlier this year mid march i got some Indian pseudo. As you know if you have used before its a dream. on this occasion though during the reduction stage when i started adding my iodine i noticed it was not reacting right and i was getting a dark colour from unreacted iodine. stopping to asses the process i then notice the reaction starting to go bad and it turning to a black volcanic sludge. anyway cleaned the mess and removed black tar from vessel to store. a day later i check on it to see the oil has risen to the top and i managed to retrieve some. i also tried to steam some oil from black tar but it wont seperate from the shit and come over. im now stuck with it. what to do.... i heard this was an aus wide shipment of bad suzie.

It sounds like the batch you received was contaminated or poorly made, causing the reduction to fail and producing that black sludge. Unfortunately, this “bad Suzie” seems to be widespread in Australia right now. Your best option might be to avoid trying to salvage the tar, as it’s likely impure and unsafe. Consider properly disposing of the waste and sourcing from a more reliable supplier next time. Safety first, don’t risk using compromised material.
