In the NaBH4 reduction of P2NP to amphetamine, can CuCl2 be substituted for CuSO4? Or do the sulphate ions interfere?

Confirmed, you must take into account the molarity of the aqueous solution and the water of crystalization which is 5 water molecules per CuSO4 molecule when talking about the blue crystals which are the more common form with a molar mass of 249,28 g/mole including the five moles of water in it. You should prepare the solution with the same molarity as the nitrate or chloride in the procedure.
