Can someone please tell me how 2-(2-chlorophenyl)acetyl chloride is made? I was thinking about reacting chlorobenzene with chloroacetic acid to make 2-chloroacetic acid and then react that with phosgene or Thionyl chloride to make the end product but i would have to distil the 2-chloroacetic acid from the other isomers without knowing their boiling and decoposition points and without vacuum distilation.
