I remember when I was younger there was this silly little game we played at school called "Dope Wars" (Remember the iron man theme song?) and there was a few different versions of it. It was turn based and you had "30 days" and you had a certain amount of money you started with and the idea was to get the most money without dying or getting busted. Each day you could buy sell and travel and that would be your day. So you would buy cheap at A where the streets were flooded, travel to B and sell because you got a tip there was a drought and prices were through the roof. You would get busted at the airport if you didnt use enough bug spray to hide from the dogs and then had to fight your way out from 200 cops if you had enough bazooka ammo and health packs. Pretty convenient. Silly little game, worth its effort for the instant download in entertainment value at any age.
Then I remember there was an online multiplayer version of it that was also turn based (daily) and you earned tokens to do actions every day. It was on some other website way back when. You could earn or buy more tokens with real money, or for "activity" in the forum, say, to use in-game buy product to sell in-game. You could start and join cartels, which were made up of other community members, and do attacks as a group on rival gangs and there were standings and placings with all the statistics at the end of each season. Might be a fun thing for the community. Maybe a silly question, but what would the value be, if any, towards this obscuring some of the particular activity here and, of course, attracting new and other visitors and possibly bringing in revenue with something indirect but related and then seeing who falls into the ranks from this pool. I know when found that game at the time, if I had saw that it was linked to something like erowid, but rather, BB... the chemistry forum and everything else where I would eventually realize that I didn't need 10 years in college and it wasn't too late - that everything was here and organized so I could teach myself how to do whatever I wanted to do at home as far as making my own drugs, safely and privately... maybe I could have saved myself alot of trouble? It would atleast have been a step in the right direction towards harm and crime reduction.
So, For the programming wizards here, what about a rip off of the online forum version dope wars game I am talking about only made into the Breaking Bad theme we've all come to love and embrace? ...A side game featured on the forum for shits and giggles for those of us who have been here a while and maybe to attract all kinds of others and would-be's but maybe it can be used to serve other useful purposes also, the experts will know best how to use it for the community at large. "Breaking Bad monopoly" online where we can all play along and "start labs and sell meth" and all that fun stuff. It might be a good way to bring in some more support and interaction to the community, win prizes, etc. maybe it can also be used as a teaching tool also where we put our own twist on it. Thoughts?
