Pinwheels and spiderwebs?

Hi all, so at the end of a AlHg reductive amination the product formed has been very slow setting. It has the shape of rings, spiderwebs or pinwheels? Can anybody tell me wat is going on here, basically done this every way possible with Methylamine HCL and always getting crap that slowly sets as rings. Ingredients seem to be fairly pure, p2p is almost water clear. My guess is rings are incomplete reaction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
