The authorities dismantle a Spanish-French drug ring that produced cocaine and marijuana in Malaga and transported it in wheeled cars to the French Brittany / From there, the drug was distributed to other parts of Europe / There are 24 detainees and about 200 kilos of narcotics intervened
Agents of the National Police, in a joint operation with the French National Gendarmerie, Europol and with the collaboration of Eurojust, have dismantled an organization that had in the province of Malaga an industrial marijuana plantation of 1,000 square meters buried underground and two cocaine laboratories. 24 people have been arrested - 6 in Spain and 18 in France - who formed a criminal organization dedicated to the production and subsequent shipment of cocaine and other narcotics that departed from the Costa del Sol and arrived in Rennes, the gateway of French Brittany, from where it was distributed to other central European countries.
23 searches have been carried out, nine of them in Spain, in which two cocaine laboratories in the province of Malaga have been dismantled and, hidden in one of them, a double-height industrial marijuana plantation manufactured with containers and located underground.
The investigation began in May 2024 when agents detected a criminal organization that supplied various narcotics to the northern part of France and central European countries and whose leader had moved to the province of Malaga to establish several cocaine laboratories and direct the criminal structure from Spain. The investigations detected that the criminal network had a high geographical mobility and that it used different suppliers in the South of Spain for which it had established contacts with criminal groups in Córdoba, Seville and Malaga.
During the course of the investigation, the agents were identifying each of the members of the organization, as well as the role played by each of them. The surveillance made it possible to detect that they had an infrastructure composed of two cocaine laboratories, installed in the province of Malaga, whose production they transferred in vehicles equipped with sophisticated hydraulic systems to France where it was stored for later distribution. In addition, they detected that they took advantage of the shipment of cocaine in convoys of vehicles to transport other narcotics such as hashish, marijuana and synthetic drugs.
The exploitation of the operation was carried out when it was detected that one of the convoys was preparing to transport narcotics to France, so a device was organized, with the deployment of agents of the National Police in France and of the French Gendarmerie in Spanish territory. Once the convoy was intercepted, a simultaneous operation of arrests and searches was carried out in both countries, in which 24 people have been detained as alleged members of the organization. Among those arrested is the leader of the organization who, upon noticing the police operation, was trying to escape to Thailand from Madrid.
There have been 23 searches, nine of them in Spain, in the towns of Malaga, Torremolinos, Marbella, Coin, Almogía, Seila, Lucena and Aguilar de la Frontera, in which two cocaine laboratories that the organization had established in Coin and Malaga have been dismantled. Three indoor marijuana plantations have also been dismantled, one of them inside one of the cocaine laboratories, formed by containers and that, distributed over two underground floors, had an area of 1,000 square meters.
In the entries and searches, various narcotic substances were intervened - 17 kilos of cocaine, 155 kilos of hashish, 15 kilos of marijuana, 5 kilos of synthetic drugs and 100 liters of chemical precursors - two war weapons – an assault rifle and a submachine gun -, a revolver, a shotgun, four electric immobilizers, three modified weapons, 60 mobile phones, six high-end vehicles and 225,000 euros in cash.
