I think mail is fine. Sender uses someone else's (such as an unsuspecting neighbor's) address. And has to rotate addresses every so often. Its the receiver of mail who is most at risk. I'm sure fbi could just order some drugs, work with the post office to lookup database records of ingoing/outgoing mail from sender's address. And bam! they have a list of probable drug buyers.

FALSE! The receiver is not ever at risk unless he says something stupid. The fact that the receiver is often a junkie or addict, and doesn't always think things through, the catcher should always be reminded that anyone can mail anyone drugs and call the pigs, that they are never in danger unless they say "it was someone else who wanted me to do it" or whatever.
If you don't say shit, they can't do shit.
If you ever change your story, someone is getting in trouble. Don't listen to their lies

I thought USPS had to get a warrant to open a package, but I recently heard something different.

So USPS still has to have probable cause to open a package, but I don't think they need a signed warrant. I think they just have to fill out a form and then they are good to open it.

How would one advertise they offer dead drops without meeting people face to face? My thoughts would be some sort of qr code left in areas, and it links to a pgp key.

My ideal scenario would be not ever meeting anyone, and being able to do dead drops based on pgp alone.

That way police would have nearly nothing to go off of, and you'd be able to focus on you electronic security in order to stay safe.

Dead drops can be advertised offline using stickers, for example, or using marketplaces like Bazaar

In the USA, there are cameras everywhere, was walking the dog and it went in a neighbor's yard, and their doorknob said "you are on private property and being recorded"...their fucking doorknob. (Said ln the Russian accent, like when dude said "he killed 3 guys with a pencil...a pencil").
Dead drops are cool for bulk delas done out side of town, in the forest, which may work, but in town, someone would record that shit.
Post office does too, but that still has plausible deniability (I am homeless and people give me work, one of which is doing grocery and post office runs, sealed up I never saw what was inside...)

A dealer can't send hundreds of shipments every day by mail; they'll be quickly identified.
And a few droppers can easily scatter drops in parks and forests, even flowerbeds.

And sending wholesale lots is generally dangerous, they can be detected by a scanner or a dog
