5 tips to stay anonymous in Internet

Here are five tips to stay anonymous on the internet:

1. Use Tails OS or a Privacy-Focused OS

Tails is a live operating system that runs from a USB stick and leaves no trace on your computer. It routes all traffic through Tor, enhancing anonymity.



2. Browse with Tor

The Tor Browser encrypts your internet traffic and routes it through multiple relays, making it difficult to track your real IP address. Avoid logging into personal accounts while using Tor.



3. Use a Secure VPN (but not with Tor)

A no-log VPN can help mask your IP, but using it with Tor can sometimes reduce anonymity. Choose a trustworthy VPN provider outside Five Eyes jurisdictions.



4. Avoid Personal Accounts & Metadata Leaks

Do not use Google, Facebook, or any account linked to your real identity. Turn off JavaScript when possible and use privacy-friendly search engines like DuckDuckGo or Startpage.



5. Use Encrypted Communication & Secure Email

Prefer end-to-end encrypted messaging apps like Signal or Session. Use ProtonMail or Tutanota instead of Gmail for private email communication.

And if you have a good PC, you can also use the Kicksecure+Whonix combination. While you might need some time to fully setup both operating systems and maybe being used to the linux ecosystem, this combination can have a better safety and anonymity than Tails OS as a standalone setup.(Which I find to be very much useful also). Kicksecure+Whonix are also useable in live mode for more dangerous conditions.

Another thing about Kicksecure: It can be more easily installed, unlike a few years ago. When I first wanted to install it, there were no options to install directly on the usb, so I tried to morph Debian into Kicksucure, which I couldn’t. I did another installation attempt this year and was able to install it directly to a usb.
