Then, the chemist either could do the epoxide oxidation with formic acid or GAA and 30% H2O2 time labor route
OR
do the Wacker oxidation with palladium chloride expensive route
Then reduce the ketone to yeild PMA or PMMA
***You will not get MDMA ***
PROS & CONS
Pros: swim only sees anethole ---> PMA
As Great Practice
To practice with less regulated anethole first (especially if your a beginner)
Before you use your precious, hard to get safrole
Cons:
PMA and PMMA are more of "an overdose poison" than euphoric recreation
