I was looking for a place to save this messege I originally sent to a member, who asked me about making crack cocaine. It's far too long for my wall. Hopefully someone can get some insight from it, or it could spark a good conversation.
Making crack cocaine, the traditional method (straight drop)
First, I put a bottle of water in the freezer. Some ice cubes will do the trick instead, get crafty, we just need some ice cold water. We're working with a spoon, so im going to bend the handle up and back down and up again on the end, so the end is like a foot and you can set this thing down and it doesn't spill. I'm going to put my 0.8g in ...something, the boat to my scalema finger bowl a test tube, a 5ml beaker, what you got . Im going to put that ice cold water in it, double the amount, 1.6ml sounds good for 0.8.mI, Ihave a couple of 10ml glass pipettes, a box of 3ml disposable pipettes, a dropper,or just pour it carefully. Swirl it around about 2 times and set it down and wait 30 seconds. If there is sedement in the bottom, decant the water off. If theres no sedement, good for you.
Now im going to put it in the spoon, enough that infeel comfortable i wont spill it. If all dont go, nbd. For posteriety we're going to weigh the sb. 30% of 0.8 is(8x3) 0.240g put it in. It aught to start cooking. Fizzing. That white crust is going to form and rise like a loaf of bread, when the fizzing has about stopped, im going to go around in a circle under the spoon. Flame touching. In my mind im counting. One rotation around the spoon equals 1 second. I count, ' one one thousand 2,3 and if it isnt fizzing 4 annd 5. Let it do its thing until the action has about stopped. For me, i knock the air out of it. The air is a good insulator and itll keep that crust from cooking and youll heat it more than if you had knocked it down. Look for water. If there is very little add some . Probably 5-7 drops or until the water makes a mote around your shit. An 1/8" wide mote. 1,2,3 swirls with the lighter ( could take 4, make it fizz) and stop. Watch it fizz and whem its slowed down significantly, do it again. 3 rounds of heating= water check and knock the air out. I use an exacto knife and chop rhe air out, but use what you got, butter knife, a credit card. Add the water. If you started with more than the spoon would hold, you used the extra water first, so by this 3rd watering it should all be gone for sure. Now youve knocked it down twice, so the foam is going to start dissappearing. Keep doing what you were doing with the lighter and circles and 3 seconds/3 circles. After you add water, the first heat cycle takes 5 seconds but after the first time 3. The water was cold that you added, so getting it upnto temp takes that 2 extra seconds the first time. Avoid the desire to blaze the fuck out of it. When you see it boil, just a bubble off the bottom. Stop. Thats your target, 5°below boiling. You'll boil it a time or two, nbd, just don't simmer it. Dont let it boil. The cookie is melting now and the white shit is turning to oil. Don't speed up, stick to the 3 circles/seconds, then leaving it h til it slows significantly. Slowly but surely all of the white is going to turn into oil floating on the water. Never let it run out of water. Water is your friend, it boils at 212/100 and no matter how much flame you throw at it, water wont get any hotter, itll just boil harder, until theres no water left. Crack melts and like 98°c, and that is when its suseptable to vaporizing. 100°C boiling water puts you right where you want to be. Sometimes you just cant get that last 5-10% to turn to oil. Thats that. If there is shit around the perimeter of the spoon tip the spoon so the water is close to the edge and hit it with the lighter and it will melt down into the pool. The shits basically all oil? Your done. Some people set the spoon on an ice cube, or put water on it, whch makes it harden instantly, me, i take a nail or toothpick and swirl it and let it cool on its own. Some people swear by a penny to collect the crack, but who wants lumpy amorphous blob? The spinning makes it solidify into a round bead like a coin. Fish it out of the water. NOW take a pinch of baking soda, throw it in the water and torch it. To see if theres anything left, it will fizzle. If it boils without fizzing toss it, if it fizzes, cook it and get your 20mg piece out of there. its important to have water in it at the end because the salt that formed will stay dissociated in the water, but if there is no water, that salt goes into your crack.
This picture was taken by the DEA and this crack was made by a DEA chemist. Looks good, straight drop, I reckon. Sometimes it's a bit yellow, sometimes it's a bit brown, sometimes it's stark white, the color isn't a factor in determining purity.
The water extraction at the beginning is optional. If there is nothing (sludge) sitting on the bottom of the container, it did't help. It can help alot or 0. You could do this in a beaker or borosilicate pie pan. Add the cocaine and the baking soda and then add the water. You could use hot water and it would cook very fast, but it may take some external heat to finish, so don't use a mason jar or glasss cup that is not Pyrex/brosilicate glass, and the lowesr setting on your stove is the highest setting you want to use. If you have a probe thermometer, shoot for 98c
This makes top quality crack, to make cheaper crack, just add more baking soda, up to 50% the weight of the cocaine. Any more than that and it won't get hard. When you add excess baking soda, it makes it less want to cook completely to oil. Don't waste your time trying. It will lock up and make white pebbles that dont want to melt no matter how hot you try to get it. Knock the air out of the cookie (turtle shell some call it) twice and cook it 2-3 more heating cycles and call it good swiss cheese ceramic street crack
