I'm interested in your opinion why it's stupid, I've never tried merhcat but it's the bk equivalent of meth. A wolfe-kitchner would make it meth, I've never tried meat, is it junk?
Pseudo is commonly extracted by the mg from cough pills while haloketone is ordered by the kilo from the web. Using pseudo as a starting point for methcatinone is a very wasteful and costly starting point when a cheaper and easier to obtain precursor is available (and it's even closer to the final substance).

Unsubstituted methcathinone is very greedy, it works for only 10 minutes, the effect is doubtful, definitely not worth comparing with methamphetamine.
