How to make Alpha-PVP in four steps

And now it's time to do something harder. We will tell you how to cook alpha-Pyrrolidinovalerophenone, also known as, Alpha-PVP, A-PVP, Alpha.

Alpha is a stimulant. And even though amphetamine is also used to speed up, you can't call them brothers.
Powerful, angry, fast, economical - these words can be said about A-PVP. It is a serious drug and must be handled with care.
But if you find the right approach, Alpha-PVP will be your strong friend.
Alpha is quite easy to synthesize right in the kitchen and we'll show you how to do it



The simplest synthesis of A-PVP with 1L jar or bottle.



Reagents:
  1. *Alpha-bromvalerophenone — 100g
  2. Ethyl acetate - 200ml
  3. Pyrrolidine - 70ml
  4. Baking soda - 100g
  5. Water
*In the coming days, we will publish the method for the synthesis of alpha-bromvalerophenone.
In fact, there will be two ways of synthesizing this precursor, each of which is interesting in its own way.



1) Synthesis

Pour 100 grams (grams, not milliliters) of alpha-bromvalerophenone into a liter jar and add 200 ml of ethyl acetate, and begin stirring well. When the solution is homogeneous, add 70 ml of pyrrolidine in a thin stream, taking care not to allow the mixture to boil or heat up too much. After pouring, close the jar with the lid and set the time for 2 hours. The solution should be actively stirred periodically during this time. After 2 hours, add 400ml water to the jar and stir for a few minutes.

2) Oil extraction and flushing

Good for rinsing is a one-liter bottle with a screw cap. Pour the mixture into a bottle and add 400ml of 30-40ºC water. Close the cap and stir the mixture well for a few minutes. Then wait for a clear separation of the fractions, which takes 15-20 minutes. There will be a free base of a-pvp in ethyl acetate (oil) at the top, water at the bottom. We need the top layer.
The bottom layer must be drained. To do this, turn the bottle upside down and open the cap slightly. This will allow the contents of the bottle to pour out slowly. When only the top layer remains in the bottle, you must stop draining.
Depending on the purity of the oil, you can wash it up to three times with 250ml of water or a soda solution (20g of soda per 250ml of water).

3) Acidification

Hydrochloric acid and acetone, mixed in a ratio of 1 to 10, are used for acidification.
100g of alpha-bromvalerophenone typically requires up to 20-30ml of hydrochloric acid and 200-300ml of high quality dry acetone. It is better to prepare an acid solution immediately before starting acidification.
Acidification is done in small portions and the mixture is constantly stirred. For mixing it is convenient to use a thin long 1ml syringe or a syringe plunger. Upon addition of the acid solution, a precipitate will be formed and the mixture will be self-heating. If the mixture gets too thick, you can dilute it with 50-100 ml of acetone (more is possible). The mixture should not be too thick, otherwise it will be difficult to filter out.
After acidification is complete, the mixture should be cooled and stored in the freezer for 12 hours. Don't forget to put a lid on the jar.
  • When acidifying, it is desirable to fix the pH of the mixture with indicators. When pH=5 is reached, stop the acidification.

4) Crystallization

Dissolve pure powder in vodka (or 50/50 alcohol/water solution) in the proportion of 1g of powder per 0.5-1ml of vodka. Bring to a boil, allow to simmer for a few minutes, then pour into crystallizing bowls. Leave at room temperature with dry air. When most of the product has crystallized, you can put the containers in the freezer to accelerate the process.

The average yield from 100g of alpha-bromvalerophenone is 80g of a-pvp.

Yes, so can I mixed them without ethyl acetate because they are in oil form?
Djdramayes, when i've buyed it from China vendors i was mixed pyrrolidine with 2-bvp and get a-pvp Free base (with no other substances). it can be used for smoking, drinking and injecting

Hello, I have a question about molar equivalence here : Why are the proportions different than in the video and in the other recipes, 70ml pyrrolidine is 0.8mol, and 100g 2-bromovalerophenone is 0.4mol, so there are 2 moles of pyrrolidine for one mole of bromovalerophenone, but other tutorials says that you have to use 3 moles of pyrrolidine for each mole of bromovalerophenone.
Why does it need so much excess in the two cases, can't we just use 1mole/1mole ?

BatracienThat's right, in order for all of the 2-bromovalerophenone to be guaranteed to react, a 2nd excess of pyrrolidine is taken, and in some cases a 3rd excess.

BatracienIt should be taken with an excess 2-3 times because pyrrolidine works as a base catalyst.
