Usually cocaine will "cook" ( fizzle/react) down to 70% or so. Depending on what it is cut with. If it is cut with something alkaline you need more than 30% baking soda. The first time you cook a new bag, after you pull the rock out of the rm(water) throw a big pinch of baking soda in and blaze it. 30% baking soda is a good ratio for 75% cocaine HCl. Higher grade cocaine will produce an extra little pebble on the second cook.

This is chemistry, not kindergarten math class, you don't just add the stuff. This is a neutralization reaction between a Lewis acid and a base. The acid releases an H+ and a Cl-, the NaHC2 reacts with it producing CO2 and NaCl. Under perfect conditions the product loses 10% of it's weight because every molecule loses an HCl. Molar weight;

C. Base=306g

I was sitting here just now, cooking some Crack and I said, "I should run the equation on this ". So I did.
Cocaine hcl mol wt. 363g
Sodium bicarbonate mol wt 80.x g( forget the exact number)
30% by weight nahco2 to cocaine by mol.wt = 140%
30% by weight NaHCo2 to 70% cocaine hcl= 200% ( well 198.x% technically)

Heroin can not be turned into crack with any method. It would take some powerful magic to turn a dog turd into a steak. You can make freebase heroin with this method, just as it makes freebase cocaine that we call crack. Perhaps freebase heroin needs a catchy name too. How about crevice? You can make crevice with this method

I guess I don't need to mention that I was high on crack when doing these computations. I fudged the numbers. 30% sodium bicarbonate is only 120% the stoichiometric amount, not 200
