I think I messed up with my AA reaction with opium

So I got some opium I have purified about 5 grams or so... I use alcohol 99percent to do my purification process i was left with a lovely dehydrated not to sticky thick ball of opium and if course with all the conflicting info I have tried to acetylate with AA and so I threw my nice ball of opium into the beaker and added Acetic Anhydride and attempted to heat the beaker in a hot water bath of about 150 degrees Fahrenheit

Now my opium is a sticky mess and I think I wasted a little but of my already small bottle of AA

Please help what did I do wrong
I really wish I had access to the hidden section I need the help I am a total amateur

I am wondering if I should have boiled my opium and liquefied it first or should I have added some sulfuric acid with my AA and opium???? Help!

I believe it is supposed to go to morphine before heroin, not sure though

I would think tar heroin from a few decades ago was tacky stuff that smelled like vinegar was exactly that, opium acetylated with AA

I would assume you can extract the target substance, and maybe do a TLC to find out what it is...I wouldn't waste it...

Yes I have seen that and don't worry I am not wasting it but next time which will be soon that I have that try again with I will be making morphine base first and then acetylating
