I think you can dehalogenate halobenzene with uv light radicalisation of the halogen or use lab microwave

You can synthesize them or buy them. All three are hard to buy (illegal to buy/possess) and methylamine isn't too hard to make, 4-methylpropriophenone is pretty difficult or pretty easy depending on what you start with. Benzene can be synthesized from toluene, or ethylbenzene or it can be distilled from gasoline

I've done a fractional distillation of pump-bought gasoline to get a bunch of different solvents. I'd consider the separation of benzene from cyclohexane and ethanol a complete fiction for someone who cannot just legally purchase benzene using their credentials. They boil way too close and our equipment lacks the required precision and temperature control to obtain the purity needed for a solvent for a synthesis.

well, you're probably right. I don't consider that because I'm a spoiled snob and could just buy a fractionation columnm if using an alihn condensor on top of my boiling flask wrapped in foil that goes up to the 3-WAY distilliation adaptor, didn't do the trick. Vigroux columns are $20 all day on Amazon
