Hello, I have done some reading about why laboratories are discovered. I have also seen that quite a few underground laboratories explode. I wonder how this happens? And what do you think is the reason why laboratories are still being discovered? Apart from betrayal by trusted people.

Some places use "funny chemical" sensors in the sewer system so they know if someone flushed some questionable chemicals at toilet. That could lead to an investigation in said area, but that depends on the place you live

Yes, that's true, I've heard about it, but in some report I read that no laboratories have been found through it so far..... Whether that is true I cannot claim. Currently, 120 cities are involved. If I find the article again, I can happily share it.

I've read that certain police vehicles are equipped with sensors that can detect Ammonia and other chemical in the air, and they can sort of "sniff you out" I've never read a story of it being used in a prosecution, but It was LE who saidit, so it's likely not hearsay. Strong smells of chemicals can easily get you busted, unlucky chance is a big part of people getting busted. Police investigating an unrelated incident see or smell something or enter your house, girlfriend calls the cops on you for a domestic disturbance or a neighbor. Explosions noises will do it. I've been veryt close to being uncovered due to an explosion, and another time for another occurance that was razor thin close was my wife called the cops not because we were fighting because something was lost and she called them to help her find it. They were in my front room, about to walk through my house. I couldn't tell them no because I called them there, o that would be suspicious as fuck. if they had walked into the second room where $$$ worth of lab equipment and chemicals were hastily covered with sheets and towels. had literally 3 minutesfrom the call until they were at the door. I was contemplating my death at that moment. Incredibly, they found what she lost, in the closet of the first room, and the search ended. Explosions happen for a few reasons, an unexpectedly energetic reaction that exceeds the vessel is the #1 cause of a meth lab explosion Trying to cook 5 boxes of pills on the first try. Flammable gas thats heavier than air accumulating at your feet, where it's not detected and being ignited by a pilot light or static electricity discharge. Strong acids or bases can start a fire too, if you drop it on the floor. A power failure could cause an explosion. your cooling pumps shut off, the lights go out and you can't see what your doing. your vacuum pump shuts off and suck back brings 2 reactive chemicals together...

Excluding complete morons who smokes in lab, most common reasons for explosions are:
1) Serious mistake of using cheap drills as overhead stirrer for flammable reaction mixtures, that consists of brushed motors that produces sparks during rotation;
2) Sudden electrostatic discharge in areas where explosive concentration of gasses are reached, for example during filtration of solids from diethyl ether.
3) Runaway reactions that results in throwing some part of RM onto the hot surfaces, hotter than autoignition temperature for specific solvents, for example it's only 160C for ether.
4) Absence/unavailability of large fire extinguishers near the working area in a critical moment. Both powdery and CO2 types are essential for the lab safety.

Any "scientific methods" for discovering illegal labs still are extremely rare. In most cases it's tracking of precursors, nowadays it's very hard to gather large quantities of precursors for a long time and remain anonymous. If your lab is still working that doesn't mean you're genius or never made any mistake up to now, maybe you're just in queue, but not in a priority.
The most dangerous for us are not some "smart sensors" capable of detecting drugs miles away, but "organic sensors" near us - our neighbors.
