Melted Methamphetamin turns Blue

I noticed that when my PSE powder melts, the powder turns bluish. Now I have subjected the methamphetamine to a melt test on a glass and it also turns blue. Is it possible that I still have a lot of unreacted Pse in my product ? If YES what can be the reason for it? wrong temperature??? cooking time???
or is there another contamination?

i hope someone can help me fix this problem.

I used different types and all of them turned blue on the glass I think I'm doing something wrong with the reaction or the cleaning

So, methylamine reacts with alkali metals and electropositive metals to form blue " electrides" which are caused by solvated electrons. This is normal and probably what tou are seeing

I am useing the hypophosphoric route… with red phosphor, iodine, ephedrine, phosphoric acid…

I have only had that happen using redphos Iodine with time release went from fluffy white to as dark blue as pen ink ok quality poor yield this in the mid 90s

She doesn't get too hot that route is fine I am not sure what the blue is I never really looked into it cuz it wasn't a quality issue although heat is my main suspect

According to a search of the most exhaustive Meth Making message board in history.(, the Hive archive) "Smurf dope" is the result of Histamine blockers; Loperamide, Chorphenimin, and loratadine Not getting removed from the psuedoephedrine pills ( possibly even whole pill shake and bake) and using iron or copper can cause it to be greenish tinted

That's a great question. I would give it an annhydrous acetone rinse to start . If that didn't work I'd dissolve it in hot IPA and run it through the buchner funnel second. I'd dissolve it in chloroform and send it through the buchner funnel 3rd and I would try it with water second (dissolving it and running it through the buchner funnel) since water is the cheapest solvent. I see chlorophineramine and loperamide is soluble in water alcohol and chloroform so acetone is your only.hope and it probably isn't soluble in it and neither is meth. So that is a good explanation why it's in there . Loratsdine is NOT soluble in water, so that's your only hope unless you have MEK DMSO or something else good

Thank you for that good information...i allways clesan my product with acetone and do a recrystallisation with Ethanol....but it still turns blue.
