Phone numbers for signal and telegram

I see everyone on here is using UK phone numbers for their signal accounts. Why is this?

Because Telegram and other similar services actively ban suspicious accounts that are registered through anonymous online SIM cards and similar services. Either British phone numbers are more trustworthy (since it is more difficult to buy an anonymous SIM card there), or some online services more often provide British numbers
