Steam distillation of A-oil

Hello community I am in need of some guidance. What do you mix with A-oil for steam distillation? I understand it is easier to salt first and then re covert to a base then distill the nah/water/freebase. Which is the process I use but isn’t there a way to skip those steps and just distill the oil?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

When I was in business, I distilled it directly in oil, no laboratory equipment, it could give big crystal and save me a lot of time, but it is big brown crystal, I used my own way to make it white.

Thank you for sharing. This is the process I use actually. It starts with dissolving the finished product in water and then Noah solution to convert back to a freebase then distilling. I would like to know of you already have freebase where to begin,

My way was
After cooking with naoh cool down/ separate throw in the steam vessel heat to 130 degrees celsius and then put the steam on… worked perfect.. don’t understand why to salt first?

The video link shared above is why I salt first. They start with aqueous solution and covert back to a freebase w/naoh solution and distill that mixture. With most of the oil I am able to get the PH is already alkaline so I wasn’t sure if adding a lye solution to the A-oil should be done.

When you do your second step with hcl instead of caustic you have to make your solution alkaline

I guess I’m missing you there. I don’t use HCL with Amph. With meth yes but not Amph. The video is about meth of course but the steam distillation process used there does work with Amph. I’m wanting to know if I have a-oil what do I add to it to start steam distillation? Or is it even possible. I have tried distilled water and results were not satisfactory
