I followed this method, but I had problems:
A mixture of 1.03 g of 1-naphthoic acid and 4.86 g of thionyl chloride was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hours. An excess of thionyl chloride was removed under reduced pressure to give 1-naphthoyl chloride.

If you want to replace naphthoyl chloride, you can take 2-methoxyphenylacetyl chloride for JWH-250, or a more complex version for UR-144
