Hey i am new here
i have some Basic questions and will be glad to find some answers.

1.If i have theoretical 1L benzaldehyde, how much nitroethan and N-butulamine i need for this 1L? And is there a stronger Version of N-butulamine for better Reaktion?

2.its better to let it reakt alone without extra heat over a long time?

• Benzaldehyde - 200ml.
• Nitroethane - 200ml
• n-Butylamine - 20 ml
• Glacial acetic acid (GAA) - 50 ml
• Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)

The ratio of benzaldehyde to mitroethane is off. The N-butylamine is being used as the base and you obably shouldn't try to change it. You don't have methanol in your ingredients, so it looks like you already swaapped it for iso, which is fne. You do need GAA, but you can't say how much until you determine how much nitro-alcohol you got from the Henry reaction you did first. you need ethyl acetate, or some other polar solvent extractant

No, he wants to make p2np. I've been day dreaming about Henry for about a year now.
Just use the portions from the recipes where you got it from. I believe one of the experts posted a p2np via Henry condensation.. Just adjust it for proper ratio. Make sure you have molar equivalents if you are not dealing with %100 pure or substitute compounds.

The GAA is to keep byproducts from being formed or something. minimizes toxicity if I recall. I don't believe IPA is necessary for this, or any alcohol. For Henry you will need Benzaldehyde, NitroEthane and the amine. n-Butylamine or cyclohexlamine are the proposed amines for the recipe. They are hard to come by for some, but they give the best product/yield for what they're worth. It is rumored that other amines may work, methylamine, ethylamine. Allegedly ammonium acetate will work but I have not heard or know any other details.

If I were you I would not wait for answers here, rather I would take some initiative and look up everything you can about: Henry reaction/condensation for P2NP. Making Amphetamine via P2NP with mercury aluminum amalgam. (AlHg). You can always try to ask the Experts, that is what they are here for. Definitely check the forum threads and video section. There is definitely a video or two about this.

This isn't something you want to use extra heat or time. Do it exactly like it is instructed. You can even do it in small and quick batches with your microwave.
