That is ALOT of lithium, much more than is necessary, probably a dangerous excess even. 2/3 grams should be enough. I use 2 AA batteries and that is much more than is needed for 5-6g of PSE. 2/3 AA batteries will be more than enough for 12g of PSE.
Ether from starting fluid is good. Paint thinner works great. Naptha, colemans fuel, or any combination of ... virtually any non polar hydrocarbon petroleum distillate will work as solvent. 200-300ml should be good.
190ml or grams? of ammonium nitrate is alot of material also. You shouldn't need more than 40 grams.
Sodium hydroxide you are going to want more of. I would suggest about 2x the amount of AN. So if 40g of AN, use 80g of NaOH.
Lastly add about 5-10ml distilled water. Insert a hose into the bottom of your bottle and put the water in so that it goes past the lithium without reacting. This will kick off the reaction. Get the cap on asap. Burp it after the first minute to get rid of any CO2 inside the bottle. With these ingredients in this quantity in a 2 liter bottle, you shouldn't need to burp much after this initial burp. The reaction shouldn't take longer than an hour. The lithium will turn copper color and dissolve - this is what you are looking for. When the reaction is mostly complete and the Li has been dissolved, burp it to a safe level of pressure and you can shake the shit out of it to expose all the PSE to the lithium and make sure everything is homogenized and reacted thoroughly. Then you may proceed to filtering, base, extract, salt, wash, crystallize etc.
