Una opción algo más sencilla para producir metilamina sería reducir el nitrometano CH3NO2 a metilamina CH3NH2 mediante amalgama de Al/Hg.

CH3NO2 + H2 ---> CH3NH2+ H2O

Me parece que hay una razón, porque utilizar combustible de aeromodelos para fabricar metilamina in vitro es una ruta habitual.. o se degrada rápidamente o... parece una reacción energética

Caliente, pesado y duro Ahora me duele el cerebro. Iba a coger todo el Gas que se escapa del rxn en un poco de HCl y tirar el resto. O utilizar el insitu sin demora.

formaldehyde 37% (CH₂O) 12.7 mol approx. 1030 grams
Dcm and methanol

I made the synthesis with a last minute decision in 3 lt capacity. The yield was good, I got 270 grams.
Ammonium chloride (NH₄Cl) 749 Gr
formaldehit %37 (CH₂O) 1546 Gr
