Une option un peu plus simple pour produire de la méthylamine consisterait à réduire le nitrométhane CH3NO2 en méthylamine CH3NH2 par l'intermédiaire d'un amalgame Al/Hg.

CH3NO2 + H2 ---> CH3NH2+ H2O

J'ai l'impression qu'il y a une raison, parce que l'utilisation de carburant d'avion miniature pour fabriquer de la méthylamine in vitro est une voie courante... soit il se dégrade rapidement, soit... cela ressemble à une réaction énergétique.

Chaud, lourd et dur ! J'ai mal au cerveau maintenant. J'allais simplement récupérer tout le gaz qui s'échappe du rxn dans du HCl et jeter le reste. Ou utiliser l'insitu sans délai.

I made the synthesis with a last minute decision in 3 lt capacity. The yield was good, I got 270 grams.
