hello,

after boiling N-formy with HCL for two hours, do we first need to separate it
before we bring it to ph14 ?
and when we add the NaOH, do we need to boil the solution again before washing with toluene ?

No need to separate unless you want really pure product, but this way you lose a lot of the base stuck between water molecules.
No boiling, toluene boils at 110 ish C, at that temp in air you are destroying base rapidly.Just basify over ice so your reaction mass stays at below 60 C, preferably as cool as possible, extract 2-3 times with whatever you have, dry, precipitate or alternatively evaporate some solvent under vaccum and dillute with acetone.

ok but if I not separate them I need allot off NaOH for getting ph14
Because all the HCL is still there
