If you knew any practical organic chemistry or the difference between the ortho and the meta positions you would have maybe figured out that there is no practical sense in turning one in the other. The whole thing is constructed separately from potentially different building blocks. In the case of 2, the starting material may be isolated since it results from the acylation reaction that is needed to make the 4 as a side product. The whole thing is a reason enough to learn chemistry, but you must sharpen your knowledge to avoid trouble. Chat bots will answer your questions but they must be good.

HerrHaberDear, I think you missunderstood my replica. I have enough chem knowlage about positions in molecules of 2-, 3- or 4-mmc lol. I mean this bot is useless and mislead people.

This question has been asked by every drug synth noobie since 1985. I've found several answers but they involved chemicals you can't buy and frankly you can't even find them referenced on the Internet.
How can one simply synthesize amphetamine from b-phenylethylamine?
If it answers that correctly the bottom will drop out of the market since they sell it everywhere for $15-20/kg. All it needs is an addition of a methyl

Frit BuchnerAll seems easy with just the theoretical knowledge, the methylation of that specific carbon is not just going to happen before the quaternarization of the nitrogen to trimethyl betaphenylethyl ammonium ion, so amino function must be either protected or transformed to lengthen the chain. Which is less appealing from a practical standpoint.
