Best way to learn chemistry.

Hi was just wondering what is the best way to learn the required chemistry to conduct various syntheses and what equipment is needed to learn chemistry on the practical level kinda looking for a new hobby instead of math research . Many thanks Ron

justonrGet your hands on total synthesis 2. If youre new to everything, you should get lost after the first chapter or so with the jargon and tempo. Everytime you see a new word or concept you dont understand and have never heard of before. Look it up, read about it. What equiptment names are and what their function is. Different methods, how to A/B extract for example. What are you trying to achieve. How does this method achieve that. Ilthats a good ppave to start getting am understanding of making sense of things. Then maybe Pick a synth youd like to try. Read about it. Look up all the stuff you dont know (again). Read threads about people trying it. Watch a video of the reaction. Then maybe give it a go.

Learn the principles such as: Electronegativity, functional groups and their electronegativity, thermodynamics, stoichiometry, electron arrangements and how this creates classes of elements, different types of bonding (ionic, metal, covalent), equilibrium reactions, oxidation states, carbon compounds (how they are drawn and the nomenclature)

I can make this list longer and longer, there's a lot of small topics to learn in chemistry best advice is to pick up a high school book or the one I used to read was "Organic Chemistry by Franicis A. Carey/Robert M. Guiliano"

Going from 0 to 0+1

I have zero chemistry background. I just got annoyed one day at being carded to buy Zyrtec. The reason is of course because people use ephedrine to make meth. (By the way, here's how) On that particular day this really pissed me off. Why should I be inconvenienced because someone I don't even know is making meth? That's some minority report bullshit, fuck that, innocent until proven guilty mother fucker. If you think about it this is no different than KYC so the government can track how you spend your BTC........... oh wait, what was I talking about?

Anyway, on the way home, I thought "I'm going to make some Meth". Never thought about doing it before, but they put the idea into my head.

Since then it's turned into a cool clandestine hobby for me, (not trying to turn into a business). I've checked out multiple resources and the info is out there, I learned how to do shake & bake (One pot) in a day... without starting a fire! However, BBGate is the only place I've found that makes me feel confident enough to step off the curb. On this forum you can go as shallow or as deep as you want knowledge wise.

They post the recipes, the equipment, and the reagents you need. Then they make a video to show you how step by step. If you have questions someone will answer, and you can trust the answer because it's pretty much vetted by a bunch of experts, (although they often disagree on the 'right' answer).

Don't have reagents, or equipment? They show you how to make them, or buy them if you prefer.

The only thing BBGate does not provide is the initiative and persistence. But, you will find encouragement!

Start with these Simple recipes, and ask what you don't know. But, try searching the forum first, because I've found if I have a question, someone else probably already asked it.

justonryou can learn from online i work with fuming nitric astin in a glass jars and i know no shit lmao, folow stict ppe tho if you want to learn simple chemistry science madness forums are hella usefull for that
