CAN I PRODUCE METH THIS WAY?

We know the phenylalanine molecule and I can easily access it in the country I live in. What I'm wondering is whether it can be produced by chemical reactions. So, when we look at it, it has a chemically similar structure: "Basic skeleton, aromatic ring (phenyl group), functional groups)" like this. I'm asking out of curiosity. Can it be done?

You can convert phenylalanine into Phenylpropanolamine and next reduction:

This is a difficult route. The route from 2-Methyl-3-phenylpropanamide (cas: 7499-19-6) seems simpler, if you can find the raw material.
