So I got a safrole bottle from a trusted chemical supply.
when you react it with KOH it turns brown to black.
when you add conc sulfuric acid it turns brown to purple to black.
The boiling point is really high above 250C.
but here is the thing the density is off, it's below 1. when I measured 25ml cylinder of it it weighted 20.3g. And it floatson top of the water.
Do you think it's an actual safrole????? am I screwed up??????!!!!!
