Hey. I get purple color when I add tropaeolin. Is my hci to strong? I made it from 30,%. 30 ml 30 hci and 70 ml water. It's suppose to be 10 % then?

Put the accurate weights of 10 mg of the sample into the vial, add 1 ml of distilled water and 1 ml of 10% of hydrochloric acid. Add distilled water to get the total volume of solution of 5 ml. Then add 2 drops of tropaeolin OO and 2 drops of methylene blue.

Yes that step. And when I add o.5 ml sodium nitrite it turns blue. This is when I don't have any amphetamine into. And it's no difference when I add amphetamine. I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. Do you have som tips at what I'm doing wrong?
Put 0.73 g (94.51% purity) of sodium nitrite into a measuring glass and add distilled water up to 100 ml (the accuracy is very important). You will get 100 ml of 0.1M solution of sodium nitrite.
