i need help in synthesis of methamphetamine

So, I sat and thought and decided. Is it possible to use phenylalanine (c9h11no2) for the synthesis of meth, I tried to find information on the Internet, I did not find how to replace the nitroxyl group with ch3, simultaneously removing the Oxy group and the hydroxyl group, replacing them with a nitroxyl group ???

Thionyl chloride + d-phenylalaninol (costs about 300/500 euro on Alibaba) if reacts to violent add cold thionyl chloride or use DMF as solvent (DSMO should also work).

If only using thionyl chloride as reactant and solvent same time it would be perfect -> let the gaseous out in water with baking soda and/or lye.
No side reactions should occur.

This d-phenylalaninol will maintain stereoselectivity because the hydroxyl group is not at the chiral centre.

This d-phenylalaninol chloride is most likely liquid at room temperature, but if it's not it most likely is when you try to boil/vacuum distill the thionyl chloride of.

If you see what chloro-ephedrine does with the Emde reaction, and platinum with hydrogen (to activate the catalyst) it should de-hydrogenate (the irony) the NH2 group to NH. Because NH is instable you should have methanol and methylamine as solvent present (don't use methylamine on water it is more likely to hydrolyze).

You might want to heat it to 90 degrees with like 5 bar pressure.

Making d-Meth from Phenylalanine looks so appealing but it is in truth a low yielding mess which needs nasty and dangerous chemicals. Thats a dead beaten Horse, the Reppe reaction, don't waste time or money on it.

OrgUnikumI understand, but I talk about d-phenylalaninol means I have one reaction less then with d-phenylalanine.

Also because, appearently, it's a SN2 reaction I don't need to protect the group.

If Pd/C with higher temps can't dehydrogenate I need to do a formamid cook but other then that it is actually a possible reaction.

Else I might try this paper.

Although it is nasty chems like thionyl chloride, if I would run it on glass it wouldn't require me to melt B, separate, and what so ever. The thionyl chloride can be recycled
by vacuum distill so keeping it all as closed as possible with a plasma filter it shouldn't be to bad. I assume Thionyl chloride is combination of HCL and sulfuric acid.

Attempting this, will make you very unhappy no matter if you start from alanine or alanol.
