one pot gas off

i am fairly new to actual hand on ive been doing research for years this is my 3rd reaction and when i created my gas to seperate the meth from the solvent there was a brown oil at the botom i seperated but cant get it to crystalize can someone help

I don't know what type of solvent you are using, and therefore do t know if it is heavier or lighter than water, but it sounds to me like there is a good chance you contaminated your solvent with moisture from your gas bottle! Especially when using murriatic acid & aluminum foil to generate your hydrogen sulfide gas, much heat is also produced. This quickly heats up the acid solution in your gas bottle causing it to travel up the hose with the gas in the form of steam. The second this moisture hits your solvent, it absorbs any meth you have already precipitated out. THERE SHOULD NEVER BE ANYTHING AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SOLVENT WHEN GASSING, BEFORE OR AFTER!! You can help assure no water droplets accidently come with the solvent when separating by pouring the solvent through a stack of several coffee filters. Then after verifying there are no dropletsfloating on top or on bottom of your solvent, you are prepared to gas. One way to help assure no moisture comes up your hose is to 1. Use Sulfuric acid and Rock Salt to generate your gas, as the reaction isn't as extreme and produces much less heat, or, if using murriatic acid(hydrochloric acid) and aluminum foil you can fill a large wide

PseudoMicroGravityMuriatic acid and aluminum foil doesn't work Al+HCL --->AlCl+2H hydrogen gas, not hydrogen chloride if the aluminum didn't pick up the chloride ion there wouldn't be a reaction. It probably is water though

What was your solvent? Did you dry the gas? What did you make the gas with? It was probably water because if you don't dry the gas it has some moisture in it and depending on the solvent it would sink to the bottom. You would have to evaporate most if it to get it to crystallize because meth is very soluable in water.

Help I'm having the same problem.
Since I stopped gassing, the powder melted again. What should I do? It is now in cold acetone.

Im wondering What's the the best and most naturaly dry way to generate DRY hydrogen chloride gas other than sulfuric asid on NaCi

Do mercury salts make HCI gas while amalgamation is in prossess with aluminum And what about NaOH + H2O and aluminum dose that process relice the chloride ion
