Potency (strength) of methamphetamine

Is it possible to increase the potency (strength) of methamphetamine?
I have heard that the potency or strength is stated in octane.
Does anyone have any idea about this?
Can the intensity of this product be made more pronounced and if so, how? Or is this a rumor?

Well the D (R)enantiomer is about 10x as strong of a stimulant the than the L(S) enamtiomer. Using various chiral compounds one is able to seperate the 2 and through this separation a person has greatly increased the potency ( by using only dextro meth) using ephedrine or psedoephedroine only produces one enantiomer so if you use those precursors the result is D- meth. The final way one could increase potency is by recrystallization, but that only improves it if it were dirty or adultorated

DirkDigglerThe octan rating of gasoline is measured in octane, so I think you have heared about a hoax.
Apart of this, @Frit Buchner descriped the advantages of the racemate cleavage, which is a suitable way to increace the potency of your stuff.
