malic acid is added to D-amphetamine freebase and then is water soluble. Extracted with water, basified, extracted and reprecipitated. For some reason it was so hard to understand that before... thanks for making this

Is there a reason for drying the solution prior to adding the acid? Because you immediately extract it with water anyway. Just wondering

good one ! except the Sulphate salt at the end...amphetamine racemate is treated with H2SO4 as conjungate acid only, because of hygroscopic properties the isomeric mixture has compared to the more prefered HCL variant.

BUT since your demonstration resulted in optical pure dextro rotary enatiomer, you should use the Hydrochloride salt instead, its like with methamphetasmine, crystaline an stable physical properties...give a try....wont regret that....more bio available and routes of administration like inhalation are possible ;-)
